Ramesses II: Contribution
Throughout Ramesses 67 year reign he made many very significant contributions, throught his roles as a builder, military leader and religious leader. Without these various conrtibutions Egypt may have been a very different empire, and our knowledge today may have been more limited. The importance of Ramses II’s reign to the 19th dynasty cannot be understated: He ruled as pharaoh longer than the seven other Nineteenth-Dynasty pharaohs combined and his reign was marked by the dynasty’s most important military campaigns.
His lengthy reign made him a formidable figure, as he saw foreign monarchs come and go. He engaged commanders in battle who had grown up hearing of his exploits. This was a factor in his dealings with the Hittites—his opponents in the second Battle of Kadesh, fought at the Orontes River in modern Syria.
Building role contribution:
Ramesses role as a builder proved to have a contribution that was more important and significant many years later. When he built many of his monuments, he used the rubble from monuments he had destroyed. These were mostly of Amemhotep II, and was because he was trying to bring religion back to the way it was before Akhenaten. The building material now has contributed to many historical studies about the period and about what kind of people Amenhotep and Ramesses were.
Ramesses contribution also included his achievements, which most significantly was Pi-Ramesses. The new Capital that Ramesses II built had a positive effect on society as it created work for his men aswell as an easier trade route as it was situated cloase to the sea and the port for boats to come in.
His buildings also made a contribution to the upholding of maat and the oreder of society, as the many temples that he had dediated to the Gods, pleased them therefore they rewarded him.
Through the many sourced depicting his buildings and theur remains it is shown that he really did contribute through them.
Military Role Contribution:

These included the peace treaty that he had with the Hitties, which included marriages to Hittite princesses. Without this there could have been many more wars and battled during Ramesses II's time of reign. This had a positive effect and helped keep his empire happy.
Religious Role contribution:
Through Ramesses II's religious role he contributed again to a peaceful society, by fulfilling his role of upholding maat. This had a positive impact, as it prevented wars happening and punishments from the God's.
